Allo, Allo what's going on 'ere then?
[from the Sunday Life - Belfast]
"Newry City were last night locked in hush-hush talks with a 26 year-old midfielder from America.
And manager Paul Millar was quietly confident of enticing the Portland based star to the Irish League.
However the Newry boss is playing his cards close to his chest and refusing to name the mystery man at this stage.
Millar says: "I don't want to alert other clubs.
"It's a busy period in the transfer market just now with just about every club on the lookout for fresh faces.
"The lad has played in America's Major Soccer League and was to have joined a team in England."
Pretty easy to guess who, isn't it...or is that me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 24?
[Update: Not Scot, according to the man himself]
